Anxiety and Fear! Be Gone

“Anxiety* Fear Be Gone!”

“Why should we be gone?” “Why should we be gone?” “Why should we be gone?”

“Because I come against you with the blood of Jesus- His complete work on the cross. I have been redeemed. So I tell you with full authority from heaven: Be gone in Jesus Name!” The name of the one who after he completed the work on the cross sits at the right hand of God- with full authority and all of the earth (Satan, demons, sins, everything in the spiritual and physical realm) is under His feet.

When we come to a place where we have nothing to offer, when we come to the end of our strength, then we come to a place prepared and ready for the power of God to rise up within us and rise up our very being. When we are dead to self, when our ashes of self are stirred up by the wind of the Holy Spirit and cast to the four corners of the world, that is when our lives are poured out as drink offering. But what are we offering? You may say I have nothing to offer. But it the very act of offering¹ that is required and not jewels of value (Psalm 51:7). The jewel² is you. You are a jewel in His crown. You might not feel it, you might not understand it. But it is true. Too long we have had teachings of self-worth that are of no worth. “You can do it!” “You are marvelous,” they say. “You can do anything!” “You are like God. You are your own god.” What Rubbish! What a blessing in your life to come to the end of your tether. What emptiness awaits the man who can do it all on his own. If he succeeds or achieves his goal he will realize he only has emptiness. Praise God if you know your weakness. As in knowing your weaknesses then something awaits you…..Resurrection³. So now die. Die to fear, die to the desire for people’s approval. Tell Fear: “You will have no part of my life. I am a child of God, who is loved.” And that perfect Love of God⁴ has nothing to do with fear, as fear has to do with punishment and torment. So do not imagine things that could go wrong. This is a form of punishment. God works all things out⁵ for good for those who love Him. And you are saved by the incredible Grace of God, the sufficient, powerful, loving concept which we hear so much about: The Grace of God. “Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.” This song is written by a man who knows what he is (see Isaiah 51). He is at the end of his means. He is not saving himself. He is not declaring “Amazing me how sweet the sound that helped a wonderful me succeed in this world all about me”. No! He is singing amazing grace. So it’s time to say enough! It’s time to say God’s Grace is sufficient for me!⁶ Die to your strength, die to your weakness and be raised up. I tell you the power of God in our lives has barely been touched. This life we live that says we meet the cultural Christian requirement is barely enough

(*Stress & worry are manifestations of anxiety)

for growth and intimacy, it is barely enough to touch the Lord Jesus. But let us take hold of Him, grasp Him with both hands! Lay down what we are holding onto and whole heartedly take the hand of God, to enter into His arms of unconditional love. So right now, put it down. Put down your efforts, put off (Shake off) your addiction and sins (Hebrews 12)⁷. Take up your shield of Faith (Eph6).⁸ Say I believe in Jesus. I believe His blood has washed me⁹ whiter than snow. Refuse to accept condemnation. It’s a lie and you know it. You are a jewel in God’s crown! You are precious¹⁰ to Him, just as you are. All your failings, all your missed opportunity, all your sin, all your burdens and inadequacies are an opportunity for God to come in fullness of his power. So you can say a simple phrase you have heard before, but hear it anew: Let the weak say I am strong! ¹¹ Let the weak say I am strong! You have an opportunity for great strength, for the greatness of God. Because you do not think you can do it alone. And here’s a truth that you must lay hold of: I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [g]infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. Phil4:13 (AMP). You do not come to a God who is afar and a God who is of old covenant. To terrifying sight, a place where even Moses trembled with fear. But a new covenant¹², to mount Zion. To Jesus the mediator and the place sprinkled with blood of Jesus. Do not fear the fire, do not fear suffering. God will protect you from the fire- it will not harm¹³ you. He will enable you! Hab 3:19 The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

Come to Him. Yes He is an all-consuming fire¹⁴. A fire to light in your heart, so you may burn for Him. So ashes of self are cast off and shaken. May the Spirit of God- which I know is in you. May it rise up and may you live in His resurrecting power! Live in reverence and awe of God not fear of man. This is a key I’m sure of it. To be free from fear we need to not only have revelation of the love of God but also to Fear God¹⁴. So Fear God and realize too the perfect love this God has for You! It’s time we applied the work of the cross, where we can say to our sin and the evil spirits that torment us: “You are finished. Spirit of fear- you are finished¹⁵ in my life- the blood of Jesus has washed me and I belong to God! I am a son of God. And it is by Him I stand.” Plead the blood of Jesus over your life. By Him I live and move and have my being, not by ourselves (daily¹⁶). Every day! So shake off fear, anxiety and torment in every way. Confess¹⁷ it, pray, break it off in Jesus name, it’s not necessarily from you, sometimes it’s passed down from generation to generation. Do both: confess it and break off any possible inherited ties. Then stand your ground on the truth. On your rock of salvation, in Christ alone! Resist the thoughts of the enemy¹⁸ they are arrows sent to pierce you. With Faith believe the Word of God for your situation/to that thought. Wait on God¹⁹ and wait for His strength. Spend time in His presence and you will rise up on eagles wings. The battle is won- we now apply and carry out the victory! We daily take up our cross²⁰. That symbol of suffering and pain. But we cherish the old rugged cross. As by it Jesus worked Freedom²¹ for you and me. (This teaching can be found on my website: allforgiven.co.nz in sermons tab).

Verses (Amplified or New King James)

1. Act of offering

Psalm 51:17

My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.

2. Jewels

Malachi 3:17 (AMP)

17 And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.

Zechariah 9:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 The Lord their God will save them in that day,

As the flock of His people.

For they shall be like the jewels of a crown,

Lifted like a banner over His land—

3. Resurrection: I want to know his weakness…share in his sufferings

Philippians 3:2b-11 (NKJ)

rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, 4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so…. 7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 3:10-11 (AMP)

10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [[b]which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]

11 That if possible I may attain to the [[c]spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

12 Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.

1 Cor 15 (AMP)

43 It is sown in dishonor and humiliation; it is raised in honor and glory. It is sown in infirmity and weakness; it is resurrected in strength and endued with power.

44 It is sown a natural (physical) body; it is raised a supernatural (a spiritual) body. [As surely as] there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body.

4. Perfect love drives out all fear.

1 John 4:18 Amplified Bible (AMP)

18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love [a]turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear [b]brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

1 John 4:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

5. All work out

Romans 8:28 (AMP)

28 We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

6. His grace is sufficient for me

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (AMP)

9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and [b]show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may [c]pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

10 So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [[d]in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful [e]in divine strength).

7. Shake off sin that easily entangles

Hebrews 12 (AMP)

1 Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

8. Shield of Faith

Ephesians 6:10 (AMP)

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. 13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. 14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, 15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the [a]firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. 16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit [d]wields, which is the Word of God. 18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

9. Blood of Jesus has washed me whiter than snow

Psalm 51:7 (whole Psalm is worth another read)

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;

Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

10. Precious

Isaiah 43: 4

Because you are precious in My sight and honored, and because I love you,

11. Let the weak say I am strong- fight!

Joel 3:10 (AMP)

10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, I am strong [a warrior]!

12. New covenant

Hebrews 12: 18-24

For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest 19 and the sound of a trumpet and a voice whose words made the hearers beg that no further messages be spoken to them. 20 For they could not endure the order that was given, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.” 21 Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.” 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

13. It will not harm

Is 43: 2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

14. All consuming Fire/Fear God (key to not fearing man)

Hebrews 12: 28

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Psalm 103:11-12 (AMP)

For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Matthew 10:28 (NKJV)

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

15. Finished

John 19:30 (NKJV)

30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit

1 Cor 15 (AMP)

54 And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished [b]forever) in and unto victory.

55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?

56 Now sin is the sting of death, and sin exercises its power [c][upon the soul] through [d][the abuse of] the Law.

57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

16. Daily

Acts 17:28 (AMP)

For in Him we live and move and have our being;

17. Confess

James 5:16 (AMP)

16 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

18. Resist the thoughts of the enemy

James 4:7 (AMP)

So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (AMP)

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoning’s and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

19. Wait on God (he understands!)

Isaiah 40:30-31 (Amp)

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. 29 He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; 31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Malachi 4:2 (AMP)

But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy.

Psalm 37:24 (AMP)

Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him with both hands.

20. Cross

Luke 9:23 (AMP)

And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].

Galatians 2:20 (NKJ)

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me

21. Freedom

Isaiah 61:1-2 (AMP)

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

Testimony- fear Switzerland and love Niagara Falls.

I broke my arm on my trip. While talking To God I felt to ask 2 questions. What were you thinking when you made me. And how much do you love me! I asked God the first question but saw no need to ask the second as I’m a Christian. When recovering in Switzerland I was staying with a family I had a lot of respect for. They showed me a book called Being in Health. One day I picked it up and looked through the illnesses I had gone through the previous years. All my illness: allergies, heart palpitations, panic attacks were said to be from stress and anxiety. Their root ALL being Fear! The book then referred me to the verse “God’s perfect love drives out all fear”. I then started to ask God to reveal to me how much He loves me. I struggled with the concept. Reading passages on God’s love. His love was often described as being high and wide and deep. All I had from God was as far as the east is from the west so far He has removed my sin. That is an indication of His love. I then gave up, thinking, ‘I cannot grasp His love, it’s not humanly possible’. Before I left though I had the mother I was staying with pray for me and cut off fear in my life that might have been passed down to me. I then left and every time when I feared a situation, like missing my train… I would say to myself, ‘God loves me so it will work out’. I was shocked at the amount of things I feared and I started to resist them and pray in tongues when I’d get a fearful thought come to me. I felt partial breakthrough. But then when I was heading to Niagara Falls God gave me revelation of His love that had me for weeks after living on cloud thinking “It doesn’t matter God loves me”.

My thought was, that as I heard the falls, I'd know what God’s voice was like as “His voice as the sound of many waters” (Rev 1:15). So he would speak to me. I was so excited as I knew God would speak to me. Well when I arrived at the waterfalls God spoke to me so profoundly. As I had heard the waterfall He showed me how much He loved me. I mentioned how I had been learning that his love was high, wide and deep. Well now I know as much water as I saw going over those falls was how much He loves me and more. The constant flow of the waters from beginning of creation to the end, it filled every second of my life, my past, my present and my future. For all my time, from even before if was born. His love was there for me. I then had the verse come into my mind that if He gave his own son to die for me, how much more will He not give me all things. He cares about all my needs. I then understood what God meant when He said to me; as far as the east is from the west so far have I removed your sin (wrong doing) and so much do I love you. That is how God loved us. It was an act of Love from God to us. Then I looked at the waterfall and saw that it would remove every obstacle from its way. Just as God’s love through Jesus dying on the cross removes every obstacle (my wrong doing) from me and so God wants to pour His love into my life. Neither heights nor depths nor anything else in all creation will separate us from the Love of God that is through Jesus Christ my Lord. There is a verse that says: ‘Cast all they cares upon the Lord for he cares for you’. Well it really means just that. Tell God your needs as he truly cares about you. He loves you like a true father and wants to look after all your needs.

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 36:5)

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?... Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:32, 35, 37-39).

A NOTE FROM A FRIEND ON HOW TO FIGHT FEAR AND ANXIETY

If anxiety or fear comes back counter it with scripture, understand Jesus won the battle and on that truth you stand. The battle is in your mind. Control your thoughts. The enemy won’t easily want to let you go but to keep you in your strongholds. Learn to identify your thoughts. When any anxiety or fearful thoughts come into your mind- put them on Jesus. (Your thoughts have three sources; Self, God, Devil/demons.) If it comes back start to pray. Call on the name of Jesus, “Jesus I need you now.” Laugh at the enemy. He doesn’t have control.

Take time to battle! If you give into it – it could grow. Suppress it straight away! Battle it! Don’t be passive! Cut it off straight away. Don’t believe the enemies lies. If you believe Jesus as your author and finisher of your faith and your protector, then rationally speaking there is no need to fear. It can be exhausting continually having arrows come into your mind. So remember to keep an eye on your thoughts and cut them off instantly. Confess them as a sin, as fear is opposite to faith. You don’t have to buy into it. Stand upon the word of God. Counter every thought with the scripture! On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand!
